RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2021 delayed

27 Jan 2021 | Flower Show

The RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2021 has been rescheduled for 20-26 September following the ongoing worldwide coronavirus pandemic.

Following careful consideration of the global situation, The RHS has taken the decision to postpone the RHS Chelsea Flower Show until the autumn, rather than the spring. It will take place over seven days from 20 September to 26 September at The Royal Hospital, Chelsea, with 20 September the press day and GALA.

The RHS will be in touch with everyone who has purchased a ticket for the event to date. They are asking that ticket holders please refrain from contacting them immediately so they can handle the situation as efficiently as possible.

All exhibitors who were to take part in the cancelled May event will be given the opportunity to be at the autumn RHS Chelsea Flower Show. Applications for new gardens, nurseries and content will also be reopened.

The RHS will also once again hold its RHS Virtual Chelsea Flower Show online during the May show week. The RHS Hampton Court Palace Garden Festival, 6-11 July 2021, and the RHS Flower Show Tatton Park, 21-25 July 2021, are currently planned to go ahead as scheduled but may be subject to changes as the situation develop.s

Sue Biggs, RHS Director General, said:

In these challenging times we have always followed government advice and made difficult, responsible decisions with the health and safety of people our key concern.

Whilst we are sad to have had to delay RHS Chelsea and are sorry for the disruption this will cause, we are excited that we are still planning to bring the world’s best loved gardening event to the nation at a time when more people are gardening than ever.
