Get ahead of plant health risks with BALI’s free resources
Plant health is an important issue for the landscaping sector and Plant Health Week (5-12 May) and the International Day of Plant Health (12 May) reminds all of us to keep it in mind.
The advent of climate change, loss of natural habitats, and growth in international trade have all contributed to a greater risk from plant pests and diseases.
BALI has long provided information for members on some of the most high-profile threats to plant health, from ash dieback and Xylella to the oak processionary moth and Asian hornet.
For example, on the oak processionary moth, members can find useful background information, tips on identification, and guidance on how to comply with the relevant regulations.
We also provide information on the state of plant health regulations following the UK’s departure from the EU, particularly in terms of the requirement for plant passports.
Members can find regulatory guidance on moving plants within Britain, importing plants from the EU, and exporting plants as well as a handy glossary and FAQ.
As BALI reported recently, plant health risks and regulations continue to evolve and we will continue to keep track of developments on behalf of our members.
