Alpha Rail employee celebrates 20th anniversary

An employee of BALI Registered Affiliate member Alpha Rail, who specialise as a Huthwaite-based metal railings and gates manufacturer, is celebrating 20 years of continued service with the company.

Yvonne Wardle joined Alpha Rail in February 1998, initially working in the sales department at its old factory on Urban Road in Kirkby-in-Ashfield, where she was responsible for administration duties such as filing, answering phone calls and inputting data.

Now, with to decades of experience under her belt, Yvonne takes care of processing orders, chasing quotations and pricing for pedestrian guardrail enquiries.

Commenting on her role, Yvonne said, “I’ve always enjoyed the varied workload – it makes every day interesting and it’s refreshing to have a variety of things to do during the day. I particularly like the friendly working environment, there is a real sense of team spirit and it’s a pleasure to work together with such nice colleagues.

In celebration of her long service, Yvonne was presented with a bracelet by Finance Director Mark Sipson.

Phil Ball, Sales Director added, “We were delighted to present Yvonne with her new bracelet to celebrate her 20th year working with us – she is an asset to the company and we are proud of the work she does to keep everything running smoothly.

Alpha Rail has been manufacturing metal railings, gates and pedestrian guardrail for over 30 years, and is proud to be one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of bespoke metalwork.  

Alpha Rail employs over 40 staff, many of who have been with the company for a long time.

Phil Ball continued, “This shows true commitment and pride in the work they do – everyone shares the same common goal of delivering exceptional customer service as well as an end product that is guaranteed to impress.

Alpha Rail relocated from Kirkby in Ashfield to a new £1m facility in Huthwaite in April 2017 which was officially opened by Gloria de Piero, Labour Party MP for Ashfield and Eastwood, Nottinghamshire.

During its 30 years of manufacturing, Alpha Rail has been proud to supply metal railings, pedestrian guardrail and gates for some high profile local and UK wide housing, parks and gardens, and infrastructure projects. Locally these include, the A453 widening programme and the £5m project to restore the Forest Recreation Ground in Nottingham. Wider afield, Alpha Rail has been involved in many BALI award-winning projects such as the £3.2m Jubilee Gardens project on the South Bank of the Thames in London as part of the Queens Diamond Jubilee celebrations as well as working on many other prestigious projects such as Hyde Park, London 2012 Olympic Games Athletes Village and the Jack Hobbs gates at the Kia Oval.
