Revised COVID-19 guidance for training provider members

11 Jan 2021 | BALI News

The Department for Education published a new document ‘Further education guidance for restricting attendance during the national lockdown’ on 7 January 2021.

BALI has now completed its review of the document, which is relevant to general further education colleges and independent training providers, plus other settings.

Although there is no clear evidence of specific guidance for training providers, we do suggest following the government guidance in only holding remote ROLO training for the duration of the national lockdown where it is possible to do so. However, the guidance does also reference technical exams, which include practical elements, can continue if the provider judges it right to do so.

In light of this, we recommend BALI Training Provider members review the guidance and make an informed decision based on their circumstances, updating their risk assessment(s) to ensure they remain effective and working as planned, and COVID-19 secure practices are in place.
