BALI confirms new Board leadership at National AGM
The British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) has confirmed a new Board leadership team following its Annual General Meeting (AGM), held today, 16 September 2026, at GroundsFest.
Ground Control's Technical Director, Matt Nokes, has been confirmed as the new Chair of the BALI Board of Directors, succeeding Adrian Wickham following his two-year term as National Chair. The "King of Chelsea", Mark Gregory (Landform Consultants), has become Vice-Chair, while Adrian moves into the role of Immediate Past-Chair.
The handover marks the next chapter in BALI’s established leadership progression, providing continuity while creating space for fresh ideas and perspectives. Adrian’s move to Immediate Past-Chair will allow him to continue supporting the Association and its Board, while Matt and Mark bring their many decades of respected experience and knowledge to the roles.
Reflecting on his two years as Chair, Adrian has highlighted the progress made by the Association, including the relaunch of BALI’s National Conference, expanded initiatives and continued work to champion professionalism, skills, diversity and the value of the landscape industry to society.
BALI Chief Executive Wayne Grills said:
“I’d like to thank Adrian for his leadership and commitment to BALI over the past two years. His contribution to the Association, our members and the wider industry has been significant, and I’m very pleased that he will continue to support BALI as Immediate Past-Chair.”
“I’m also very excited to work with Matt as he takes on the role of Chair, and with Mark as Vice-Chair. They bring complementary strengths, valuable experience and a real passion for moving BALI forward, and I’m looking forward to working with them as we continue to deliver for our members and champion our industry.”
The AGM took place within GroundsFest, bringing BALI members together from across the entire industry.
The new Board leadership will work with BALI’s Directors, committees, volunteers and executive team to build on the Association’s work and strengthen its support for members across the UK landscaping.
