Plant Protection Products: Book training early to avoid disruption

Members intending to undertake new or refresher training and certificates of competence for application of plant protection products such as PA1 Safe Handling & Application of Pesticides or PA6 Hand Held Applicators on Land  are advised to contact their local training provider sooner rather than later to book training and/or assessment.  

Following reports of delays from several members the Association contacted registered training providers, who have confirmed limited availability for pesticide training courses and assessment.  One trainer in the south advised they had just 8 days’ availability for training/assessment until the end of the year.

Insight from trainers suggests the shortage of training and assessment reflects the significant workload of the wider industry, rather than an issue associated with training or assessment facilities.

Members who either require new training or refresher training and assessment are urged to speak to training providers as soon as possible, to avoid disruption to operations.
