Nurture Landscapes acquires Grace Landscapes

28 Sep 2018 | BALI Member News

BALI Registered Contractor Nurture Landscapes is expanding further with today's acquisition announcement that it has purchased BALI Registered Contractor Grace Landscapes for an undisclosed sum. Nurture has already seen rapid expansion in 2018 with the purchase of Gavin Jones earlier in the year.

Northern-based Grace Landscapes, which has annual sales in excess of £6m is one of the UK's leading landscape contracting and grounds maintenance companies.

Speaking exclusively to ProLandscaper on Friday, Managing Director at Nurture Landscapes, Peter Fane, said:

“I’ve known the owners Tim Grace and Hugh Pawsey and have greatly admired their business for years – they’re very much the Gavin Jones of the north. The company is full of great people and delivers exceptional quality work, evident in their 17 BALI Awards.

“When Tim called me saying he was looking to retire and asked if Nurture would be interested in acquiring the business, I was on a plane to see him within 24 hours. Around 10 days later we had come to a deal.”

As part of the acquisition, Nurture will be retaining Grace's core depot based in Yorkshire including the majority of staff. Grace Landscapes will continue to trade under that name until the end of this year, eventually being rebranded in 2019 under the Nurture Landscapes brand.

Tim Grace told Pro Landscaper this afternoon, “We’ve now completed the deal and we are now part of the Nurture family, which we’re delighted about. It couldn’t be any more perfect, it’s absolutely where we want to be. We feel like we’re joining a family and we’ve worked alongside these people from the start. I think it’s an absolutely perfect fitting – it couldn’t any be any better.

Nurture has stated that they will continue to look for expansion opportunities over the next 12 months, including an as yet unnamed firm who they have already signed heads of terms with, with sales in excess of £4m, which will be announced later this year.

BALI would like to take this opportunity to wish Grace Landscapes, including its owners and staff, all the very best for the future and will be watching with interest as Nurture continues to strengthen its own portfolio of landscaping and grounds maintenance services in the near future.
