Lesley Hoare retires from Frosts Landscape

04 Nov 2020 | BALI Member News

Lesley Hoare has retired from Frosts Landscape Construction after a 31 year long career with the firm.

BALI’s Chief Executive, Wayne Grills, said:

We at BALI could not let this moment pass without saying a massive ‘Congratulations’ and hope that Lesley enjoys her retirement, wherever that takes her. We thank her for all the hard work that she has put into supporting BALI through Frosts and in particular her part in the BALI Awards. I know the team here will miss her for many things, including her vast knowledge of Frosts and the industry in general.

Frosts Landscapes sent a letter to mark the occasion:

This Friday will mark the end of an era as Lesley Hoare retires from Frosts Landscapes, 31 years to the day since she joined as a General Admin Clerk. Lesley quickly progressed becoming Assistant Estimator for the increasingly busy and growing Commercial Landscape division.

Lesley’s loyalty to Frosts has been unwavering and is a huge testament to her. Over that time the world has changed so much. Long gone are days of faxes and hard copy tenders, replaced by emails, downloads and social media. Lesley has adapted her way through them all.

Frosts has also changed a lot with many characters having come and gone, but through it all Lesley has been the glue keeping things together. People seem to get Frosts and stay for a long time or they don’t. Lesley certainly got Frosts and has been instrumental in defining what it means to be part of our Frosts family ever since. Lesley has been the familiar face and dependable rock throughout and will be greatly missed.

Everything Frosts has achieved over the last 31 years started with Lesley. From the moment tenders were booked in Lesley would do her magic. Her focus, drive, pride, professionalism and self-motivation meant that we just knew things would be done. No need to ask. Lesley’s tenacity and attention to detail has always kept us on the straight and narrow, everything has its place and wo betide anyone who flouts the system!

Working closely with plant suppliers, architects, clients and subcontractors, Lesley has built close relationships across our industry. Her emails and friendly voice will I’m sure be missed by all and as she says thank you and goodbye to you all, those who know her will I’m sure respond in kind and wish her well.

Lesley doesn’t like a fuss and has been dreading today as we say a massive thank you for everything you have done and the support you have given to us all. Lesley has always shied away from the limelight, unassumingly going about her daily duties. The Christmas parties and BALI Awards won’t be the same without her there.

Lesley has always been prim and proper and never been seen with a hair out of place. Considering the 31 years spent at Frosts Lesley has aged like a fine wine and it’s time for you to pop open that cork and celebrate what we hope will be a relaxing well-deserved retirement.

Lesley will leave some very large shoes to fill and a hole in our hearts.
