Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Survey

18 Jul 2023 | BALI News

There has been a great response to the ED&I survey, but the more people who complete the survey, the greater the integrity of the results. We continue to encourage members and non-members of the Association working within the industry to take part and complete this important survey.

In 2022, the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Charter for the Horticulture, Arboriculture, Landscaping & Garden Media professions was launched, committed to by several industry associations, including the British Association of Landscape Industries.

The signatories to the charter have continued to meet, working collaboratively with the aim of not only addressing diversity and inclusion within the industry but also the skills shortage and attracting new people into our industry.

An industry-standard survey has been developed, to gain an industry baseline. The aim of the survey results is to be something that can guide us to achieve change in the industry.

Adrian Wickham, Board Director:

"If you're involved in the industry, we'd like to understand your background, and your diversity information so that we are able to get a baseline for our industry. Without that, we can't move forward; we can't adjust. We need this information to make effective plans. This is a call to arms - we would like as many people as possible to complete the survey to ensure we have a comprehensive starting point."

The survey is for everyone employed within horticulture or arboriculture, with the exception of volunteers. Is completely anonymous, and will take less than 5 minutes to complete.

The Association would like to encourage all our members to share the survey throughout your organisations to support this important step in the industry's equality, diversity and inclusion journey.

The survey can be found here.
