The Department of Trade & Industry made it a ‘duty of care’ that all trade bodies ensure that their members are adequately trained in health and safety. In July 2014 the United Kingdom Contractors Group (UKCG) officially recognised BALI’s ROLO Health, Safety and Environmental Awareness Course under its UKCG Health and Safety Training Standard, now known as Build UK.
Who are Build UK?
Build UK formerly known as UKGC is a voluntary membership organisation for the UK construction industry. Their aim is to promote collaboration and best practices across the industry to deliver world-class standards. Their Health and Safety Training Standard provides a framework for training that meets the needs of the construction industry. It sets out the minimum standards for health and safety training providers and courses.
Why is ROLO important?
The Association's ROLO Health, Safety and Environmental Awareness Course is an online course that covers a range of topics including health and safety law, risk assessment, COSHH, manual handling, working at height, asbestos awareness, fire safety, Legionella awareness and environmental awareness. The course is designed for employees who work in the landscape and horticultural sectors. Completing the course will give you a greater understanding of your legal responsibilities as an employer or employee, and will help you to identify and control risks in the workplace.
Manager course – 3 days (plus e-learning element)
Supervisor course – 2 days (plus e-learning element)
