Health and Safety Executive to continue spot checks

24 Jun 2021 | Technical News

Due to the delay in lifting COVID restrictions by four weeks, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has reminded businesses to continue implementing COVID-secure measures which meet the latest Government guidance.

The HSE have advised they continue to work with local authorities to carry out spot checks and inspections on businesses in all areas of England, Wales and Scotland.

The measures expected from businesses, which will be reviewed by inspectors, include:

  • Completion of a COVID-19 risk assessment
  • Maintaining social distancing
  • Ensuring workplaces are kept clean and tidy

The Association has provided template COVID-19 risk assessments and workplace guidance for members on the Association website. Learn how your – office or site-based - landscape business can work safely during the pandemic

Note: The HSE have advised officers visiting premises are required to carry identification from their business and a letter of authorisation from the HSE. Our Association strongly suggests all members visited by the HSE or associated third parties verify their identity before allowing them onto site or premises by calling 0300 790 6896.
