Grounds maintenance pioneer Tony Hewitt passes age 68

The British Association of Landscape Industries, and its members, would like to express their deep sadness in hearing of the news that The Parkwood Group Founder and Executive Chairman, Tony Hewitt, passed away on 31 December 2017, aged 68. Tony also founded BALI Registered Contractor Glendale, formally Glendale Industries Limited, where he maintained his role as Chairman for over 25 years, and is still part of The Parkwood Group today. 

Tony, who many refer to as a pioneer of the grounds maintenance industry in an illustrious 30 year career, significantly contributed to the UK's green space management and horticulture industry and was an enthusiastic, passionate and charismatic business leader and family man.

The Parkwood Group of companies are leading providers of support services to public and private sector clients. The Group employs over 6,000 people throughout the UK providing services which include Leisure Management, Grounds Management, Healthcare, Consultancy and management of PFI projects.

Tony leaves behind his wife Patricia and three children, Daniel, Amy and Lara. BALI offers its thoughts and prayers to them, Glendale and The Parkwood Group, at this incredibly sad time.
