Greenwood Plants named ‘International Grower of the Year’
The sustainable nursery was entered into the international award following its HTA ‘Peat-free Grower of the Year 2023’ win back in October. Accredited Supplier, Greenwood Plants was shortlisted for the prestigious AIPH awards alongside nine other global commercial growers, from countries such as China, Spain, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Portugal.
Greenwood has been honoured with victory in three distinguished categories by the British Association of Landscape Industries, notably clinching the esteemed ‘Golden Rose’ award as the overall victor. This triumph further underscores the notable achievements of Greenwood, marking a significant milestone in their journey.
Notably, Greenwood's success is underscored by their commitment to sustainability, a core tenet of their operations. Having attained their goal of transitioning to 100% peat-free media, Greenwood's dedication to environmental stewardship is commendable. In 2023 alone, the company planted an unprecedented 2.5 million plants, setting a new standard for the industry. Additionally, Greenwood achieved remarkable financial growth, boasting a 15% increase in turnover compared to the previous year.

The AIPH (International Association of Horticulture Producers) represents flower and ornamental plant growers worldwide. Their aim is to revive and maintain an appreciation for plants, which they see as an inherent human instinct. They work towards a balanced world where humanity, technology, and nature coexist healthily. The International Grower of the Year award, created in 2009, honors the best practices in the industry and acknowledges top ornamental producers globally. Recipients of the Golden Rose award come from various countries, such as China, the United States, and Canada, among others.
