About Provender Nurseries
Provender Nurseries are an independent, trade only, wholesale nursery and supplier of plants, soil and related landscaping kit to horticultural trade professionals. Provender Nurseries are the most comprehensive plant supplier in the South East. Situated on an 18 acre site in Kent, Provender Nurseries are well placed to deliver to a wide area and can help you to arrange deliveries to your clients on site on our own fleet of vehicles. With a huge range of large specimen trees, specimen shrubs, herbaceous, grasses, fruit and bamboos we are really the most comprehensive site in the south east. We reserve large number of trees, root balled hedging and other top quality plants that are delivered to us when seasonably available. Complementing our extensive range of quality plants on site we also stock and supply soils, compost, bark mulches in bulk bags and loose as well as railway sleepers, irrigation equipment, fertilisers, tools and tree stakes. We work closely with APHA on plant health and are leaders in the industry on Biosecurity. We have been Plant Healthy certificated since February 2021. Provender Nurseries are very active within the industry and are regularly seen at trade shows and conferences. Our website is interactive and updated every 10 minutes with live stock here on site in the nursery. Once registered as a trade customer, orders can be placed online and collated together ready for collection or delivery. With a friendly, professional attitude to supplying our customers Provender Nurseries will endeavour to source any plant for your planting schemes. Plants and goods can also be tagged and reserved on site. Able to work alongside you. Provender Nurseries can help you fulfil your designs from drawing board to reality for both domestic and commercial jobs. Our transport section are FORS Silver. Provender Nurseries introduce a commercial sales branch to the existing quoting team.
Grant Beerling has joined Provender Nurseries as Commercial Sales and will be managing the accounts for Landscape Architects.
Part of Grant’s new position in the company is to engage with Landscape Architect practices and organise visits to Provender Nurseries for CPD related talks.
Grant is a highly experienced Senior Landscape Architect and is currently lecturing in Landscape Architecture at Greenwich University

Proven Winners® Design Competition with Provender Nurseries. Winner announced
Provender Nurseries in collaboration with Proven Winners® are delighted to have selected a winner for their Proven Winners Design Competition.
Esther Wientjens, Mark Lane and Richard Burt selected the winning design by Spencer Lawrence of Spatial Garden Design stating that the design had ‘great plant combinations for all year-round interest, beautifully crafted documentation clearly highlighting the differences for each season and a real understanding of the brief.’
Spencer’s design will be planted in March in a prime position along the entrance way into Provender Nurseries.
Provender Nurseries achieve FORS silver accreditation
Kevin Davies-O’Malley, Transport Manager and his teams hard work has paid off with Provender Nurseries achieving FORS silver accreditation.
FORS is a Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme, designed to drive up standards with operators and the construction industry and demonstrate exemplary levels of best practice in safety, efficiency and environmental protection.

Provender Nurseries wins Trade Nursery of the Year 2023
Provender Nurseries won the prestigious Trade Nursery of the Year Award 2023 at the ProLandscaper Business Awards 2023.
Comments from the judging panel included “Client retention is demonstrated by numbers and testimonials. They are active on several front to support the development of the industry. A long standing commitment to sustainability and biosecurity is also very clear.”

Provender Nurseries donates plants and planting team to new NHS garden at Sevenoaks Hospital devoted to memory of NHS nurse.
Friday, 19th August saw Gloria Hunniford open the new garden at Sevenoaks Community Hospital Garden iat Sevenoaks Community Hospital Garden.
Together with representatives from Provender Nurseries, Allium Designs, colleagues of Susan Hamilton-Rigby and volunteers associated with the hospital, Gloria Hunniford unveiled a memorial plaque to commemorate the garden.
The garden was created by the collaborative work of Provender Nurseries, Allium Designs, Sevenoaks Hospital League of Friends, The Sevenoaks Lion Club and other volunteers resulting in a healing green space for patients, staff and visitors to enjoy and spend time together.
FORS accreditation to Provender Nurseries
Provender Nurseries transport division are now Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) recognised.
FORS is a voluntary accreditation scheme for transport fleet operators. Being a FORS member ensures our drivers are doing regular training and vehicles are safety compliant, the transport team continually strive to achieve exemplary levels of best practice in safety, efficiency, environmental protection and raises the level of quality within fleet operations.
Being a FORS member brings peace of mind to you, as a customer, knowing that our transport fleet are safer, smarter and greener.
Garden of Exaggerated Beauty sponsored by Provender Nurseries opens at Capel Manor
‘The Garden of Exaggerated Beauty’, a garden based on the catwalk, stage and dancefloor of a drag queen club has been selected as the winning design for Provender Nurseries Garden Design Competition in conjunction with Capel Manor College now in its tenth year.
Designed by Steven Davies a final year student of Level 3 Plants and Planting Design course at the Enfield campus, the garden was unveiled by drag queen Sissy Lea in the summer of 2022.
The garden will be used as a teaching resource for lecturers and students.
Provender Nurseries collaboration with Ebbsfleet Development Corporation in great tree giveaway
During March 2022, Provender Nurseries in conjunction with Ebbsfleet Development Corporation, provided 1500 trees and 900 plants free to every resident of Ebbsfleet as part of their ‘Greening the City’ initiative.
Working with Kevin McGeough, Head of Strategy and Placemaking at Ebbsfleet Garden City Provender Nurseries selected plants that would increase biodiversity to the city with a mix of native trees, trees with high wildlife value, edible fruit trees and smaller plants grown in peat-free compost and kerb recyclable pots by Provender Nurseries themselves.
Behind the Scenes Event at Provender Nurseries
During Provender Nurseries’ Behind The Scenes event guests were shown around the new developments on site by Richard McKenna highlighting the new customer order area, larger deliveries in and out yard, one of the plant production units and the isolation pods for biosecurity purposes.

Adding to the Rosedale brand, exclusive to Provender Nurseries recently launched the latest addition to the Rosedale brand, Rosedale Peat Free multi-purpose compost.
The Rosedale brand, exclusive to Provender Nurseries includes Peat Free multi-purpose compost, Rosedale multi-purpose compost, a range of professional blend fertilisers available in two sizes including Beds and Borders Fertiliser, Ericaceous Fertiliser and Treeplanter Fertiliser.
Rosedale Peat Free multi-purpose compost is available in 50L bags.
Provender Nurseries supports RHS Young Designer of the Year at RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park
Winning a Gold medal, RHS Young Designer of the Year and Best Constructed Show Garden, Freddie Strickland has swept the board at RHS Tatton Show this year with the support of Provender Nurseries for his first ever show garden ‘On Tropic’.
The plants were selected at Provender Nurseries 18- acre nursery based in Kent and grown on in their growing facility nearby.
Working closely together, Provender Nurseries supplied many of the main feature and backbone plants for ‘On Tropic’.
Going Green range launched at Provender Nurseries
Collated from their present stock range and in response to customer requests for environmentally friendly products Provender Nurseries have grouped all shop products that are either organic, wildlife friendly, child and pet friendly or have natural ingredients as their main components to create the Going Green range.
Richard Burt, Sales Director adds ’We are really pleased to be able to offer products to match our customer requirements alongside our own growing stock in peat free compost and kerbside recyclable pots which are proving a big hit with our customers’.
Provender Nurseries achieves Plant Healthy Certification
Provender Nurseries are delighted to announce that they are now certified ‘Plant Healthy’, one of the first group of ornamental suppliers to the horticultural industry to gain certification so far.
Plant Healthy is a new quality assurance scheme created to protect horticultural supply business against destructive pest and diseases. Plant Healthy has been developed by the industry, with input from Government and sets out key requirements for plant health management.
The overall aim of Plant Healthy is to improve the plant health & biosecurity management systems throughout the plant supply chain.
Provender Nurseries wins in Soft Landscape Supplier category at the Pro Landscaper Business Awards 2020.

The judging panel consists of highly respected industry stalwarts and the judging criteria is based on how well companies run their businesses. Considerations for this category include work by the winning company for disease prevention, client relationships and retention.
Treefest - a great success at Provender Nurseries
In November 2019 Provender Nurseries held TREEFEST with guided tours around their tree field led by resident tree expert Richard McKenna.
Among the tree selected for the tours were trees for small gardens, trees for screening, fastigiate trees and some of the more unusual trees held in stock that Provender Nurseries are well known for. The specimen tree field holds a large selection of pleached, multistem, feathered and standard trees all year round.
The tours were interactive with plenty of questions and discussion.
