Upskill your staff with L3 apprenticeships

18 Sep 2025 | BALI Member News

Capel Manor College, London’s specialist environmental college, is calling on landscaping, horticulture, and green infrastructure employers to partner in delivering two advanced apprenticeships: the Level 3 Landscape Technician and the Level 3 Horticulture Supervisor.

With industry bodies such as BALI and the Landscape Institute highlighting critical skills shortages, the programmes are designed to support businesses in building the workforce of the future.

“Employers across our sector are facing acute recruitment challenges,”

said Pauline Clarke, Employer Engagement Manager at Capel Manor College.

“These apprenticeships provide an opportunity to shape motivated individuals into skilled professionals, while accessing government funding to make training cost-effective.”

About the Programmes

Level 3 Landscape Technician – Provides technical training in design, surveys, sustainability, and project management, supporting progression towards Chartered Landscape Institute (CMLI) pathways.

Level 3 Horticulture Supervisor – Focuses on supervisory and leadership skills in plant health, grounds maintenance, biodiversity, and sustainability.

Both programs will be delivered on line which reduces travel time.

Why Employers Should Act

  • Train apprentices to meet specific business needs.
  • Access funding that significantly reduces training costs.
  • Retain skilled staff and strengthen long-term workforce capacity.
  • Align with Net Zero, biodiversity net gain, and ESG commitments.
