Tivoli helps a small business to grow during COVID-19

Tivoli has been living up to its social values in this time of difficulty by helping a small business to grow and helping to change one person's life.

As part of its response to COVID-19, Tivoli decided to invest in hi-vis vests with a ‘2 metres please’ social distancing message, and protective face masks for all operatives as added protection to keep them safe while at work. Lytham Embroidery – a small business based in the north that had seen a drop off in business during lockdown - stepped in and worked night, day and weekends to produce the branded PPE that was needed as quickly as possible.

The size of the order and the urgency to get the items out to Tivoli operatives meant that Lytham Embroidery needed to recruit new employees. They recruited Adam, 21, who is hard of hearing and had struggled to secure employment. Adam has since shown himself to be a conscientious worker who really cares about the quality of the garments that Lytham Embroidery produce. He has gained a permanent contract, is a proficient user of the embroidery machines, and is currently participating in training to complete machinery maintenance.

Lytham Embroidery has also seen a real upturn in business, as many organisations who valued the quick response in providing PPE items have now gone on to order all of their uniforms from the Lytham Embroidery team.

Tivoli's social values are grounded in the belief that the business can make significant and positive impacts on individuals and its supply chain.

Darren Cunningham, Tivoli Chief Executive, said:

“We feel very proud that we have helped a small business to grow, and contributed to a young person getting their first step on their career ladder.”
