Staff changes at BALI Landscape House

12 Aug 2020 | BALI News

Following a period of reorganisation and recruitment, the British Association of Landscape Industries (BALI) is delighted to announce that Emily Feeney has been promoted to the position of Events Project Manager and has taken over responsibility for the BALI National Landscape Awards along with BALI’s other major events.

Taking over from Emily as Senior Membership Officer is Jo Todd. Jo brings with her a wealth of experience and knowledge in customer service based roles, with her last position in waste management and composting.

BALI would like to congratulate Emily on her new role and would like to extend a warm welcome to Jo who has already started to make headway in supporting members having commenced employment on Monday 3 August.

Commenting on taking on the Senior Membership Officer position, Jo said;

My roles have mainly been customer service based, that is my ‘thing’. I started off in retail and then moved to an office-based environment when I had my son. I have over 20 years’ experience in administration, training & development, coaching and customer & business support. I have always seen it as my job to make sure things get done when they should, and things run smoothly. They don't call me the 'office mum’ for nothing. My experiences started in window hardware before progressing to bathrooms and eventually waste management services.

Jo continued...

The more I learn about BALI and what we do here the more excited I am to really get into the role and further develop the amazing service we already offer our members. I am also looking forward to working with the team at Landscape House once we all return from remote working later this year.

With the BALI National Landscape Awards' Adjudicators visiting sites around the UK throughout July and August, and deliberations at Landscape House confirmed for 25-27 August, it's a busy time for the Awards team. With the appointment of Emily, who will now oversee the entire event in her new position as Events Project Manager, the event is in safe hands.

Commenting on her new role, Emily said;

Having worked at BALI for over 7 years, first as Membership Officer, then moving to Senior Membership Officer, and working closely for some of that time on the Awards, I felt now was the perfect time to set myself a new challenge. Not wanting to leave the wonderful members BALI has, as well as the great team at Landscape House, the position of Events Project Manager felt like the perfect opportunity for me. It has been such a pleasure getting to know our members over the years and my hope is that the fantastic relationships I have developed will help to move the Awards forward. I would like to wish Jo all the best in her new role and I am excited to be able to witness Jo achieve wonderful things for BALI members in the future.

Operations Manager, Kirsty Wood, who has both managed Emily’s career progression within BALI and recruited Jo, said:

I am delighted that we have two strong and capable individuals in the positions of Events Project Manager and Senior Membership Officer. These two roles are incredibly important for the Association as they deliver frontline services to members by way of support and promotion. Emily has worked on the Awards, alongside her main role in membership, for several years and I am proud to see how far she has come and excited to see her flourish into her new role. Jo is an extremely talented and likeable individual who brings decades of customer service experience to Landscape House. Our team at BALI deliver the highest standards of service for our members and this has only been bolstered with these latest appointments
