Mike Glover Retires from Barcham Trees

04 Dec 2025 | BALI Member News

Mike started at Barcham in the spring of 1992 and with 3 decades working within the business, has built it from humble beginnings to the glory it is today, holding over 100,000 trees in containers.

“I have had over three wonderfully enjoyable decades at Barcham. Building up the business from small beginnings with only a staff of 6 to where it is today will always be a very cherished memory for me. I estimate we have supplied over 2 million trees into urban areas throughout the UK during my career and their development to maturity is a constant satisfaction for me.  There have been so many industry and work colleagues befriended over this time, many of whom have since retired themselves, and I feel fortunate to have had a career in trees which draws in so many lovely people. “

He will be sadly missed by the whole team at Barcham, but we wholeheartedly wish him and his family a happy retirement.

‘I am looking forward to my golden10 and already have plans for a lot of travelling adventures with family and friends’.

Warren Holmes-Chatfield will take over the role of Managing Director moving forward.

‘ I look forward to the role ahead and the opportunities for our business, continuing to supply high-quality trees into the wholesale market. Furthermore, our business will diversify with our upcoming venture of the Barn and Garden, which is a 16-acre garden with children’s play area, café and retail shop due to open at the end of 2027’.

The operation of the company will continue as usual. Please see here for the full press release: https://www.barcham.co.uk/mike-glover-retires-from-barcham-trees
