How to increase your profit with BALI Midlands' AGM

29 Jan 2020 | BALI News

Feel like you’re not bringing in as much money but taking on more jobs than you can handle? Join BALI’s Midlands committee for two informative talks from guest speakers LandPro and Green-tech followed by the regional AGM and a networking lunch.

BALI members and non-members from across the country are welcome to attend the event, to be held at BALI Landscape House, which includes two guest speakers, a networking lunch and an opportunity to hear BALI’s Chief Executive Wayne Grills provide an update about BALI’s activities.

Sam Hassall of LandPro will be the first guest speaker and will focus his presentation on how contractors can make a significant profit from a minimal number of contracts, so fewer jobs undertaken for more money. The talk will focus on costing philosophies and methods of understanding what any project is going to cost you as a contractor. Understanding the exact cost of a project is key to making a profit on that job. Sam’s presentation will focus on

  • absorbing risk
  • forecasting the pitfalls of the contract
  • absorbing your overhead into the job costs
  • submitting and managing competitive estimates that return you profit and enhance your reputation and longevity as an accredited contractor with its associated BALI status

The overall theme of this talk will be ensuring how you only win the jobs that will make you a profit.

Following the talk from LandPro, the formal AGM will commence allowing  BALI members to vote on important topics related to the Association. This is an opportunity for members to review the year, receive updates from BALI, network with other members from the region and feedback anything they feel BALI could improve on.

Following the AGM, guests will be able to listen to the second guest speaker, Green-tech, who will be providing a presentation on best practices of urban tree pits. As one of the UK’s leading landscape wholesale suppliers, Green-tech will provide ways you can ensure you provide urban trees with the best opportunity to survive and thrive.
