Have your say on two plant health consultations

One consultation is looking to inform UK-EU negotiations on a new sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) agreement, which could remove some of the barriers to plant trade such as burdensome paperwork and damaging border checks.

Specifically, the government Is looking for feedback on the following areas – if you have any thoughts on these, please contact us at technical@bali.org.uk and we can build your input into our wider response.

  • What you see as the opportunities
  • What you think you will need in terms of information to implement it
  • Any case studies and sector-specific considerations
  • Any other support you need to make the most of the deal

Meanwhile, the government has also launched a call for evidence on draft guidance around plant health civil sanctions, which will be used to enforce regulations on businesses importing and exporting plants to and from Great Britain.
