18 Sep 2025 | BALI Member News

This year’s theme, “Guild Discovery Day Goes Wild: Reimagining Horticulture for People, Nature, and Planet”, explores the vital role horticulture plays in addressing today’s pressing challenges — from climate change and biodiversity loss to the opportunities presented by new technologies.

Highlights of the day include:

  • Keynote speech on rewilding urban areas and nature-based solutions
  • Talks on horticulture’s role in zoo conservation and community gardening innovations
  • Interactive breakout sessions on reimagining gardening as a response to global challenges
  • Exclusive tours of ZSL London Zoo’s horticulture and Regent’s Park’s new Queen Elizabeth II Garden (under construction)
  • The event will also feature networking opportunities, organisation displays, and a free lunch for participants.

Guild Discovery Day 2025 is free to attend and open to all apprentices, trainees, and students pursuing careers in horticulture or allied professions. Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration closes on 29 September 2025.

This initiative is jointly organised by The Royal Parks Guild, The Royal Parks, ZSL London Zoo, and The Tree Council, with support from a range of partners.
