Department for Work and Pensions Launches New Employer Engagement Strategy to Support Trade Bodies and Boost the Economy
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has unveiled a new Employer Engagement Strategy, marking a significant step forward in its mission to support economic growth and enhance recruitment services for Trade Bodies and their members.
As part of this strategic initiative, the DWP is positioning itself as the recruiter of choice by addressing sector-specific labour market challenges, economic pressures, and unique supply and demand needs. To achieve this, the department is investing in a national network of experienced Recruitment Managers who will deliver tailored and comprehensive recruitment support.
This modernised approach aims to transform how labour market services are delivered, ensuring they are segmented and responsive to the specific needs of each sector. By improving hiring practices and leveraging innovative technologies, the DWP seeks to create a more efficient, targeted, and effective recruitment service.
Employers will benefit from a wide range of recruitment solutions, including assistance with application processes, candidate screening, pre-employment training programmes, and the promotion of vacancies to active jobseekers. Where available, Jobcentre Plus offices can be used for interviews, and the department will also coordinate local recruitment events to connect employers with potential candidates.
