Calders & Grandidge joins the Wood Protection Association
Calders & Grandidge (C&G) has become the newest member of the Wood Protection Association (WPA).
Based in Boston, Lincolnshire, C&G is one of the UK’s longest-established manufacturers of pressure-treated wood products. With more than 125 years of experience, the company supplies utility poles for the power and communications sectors, railway sleepers, and high‑performance fencing products.
C&G is recognised nationwide for its focus on quality, sustainability and reliable delivery to the infrastructure, Equine and Agricultural sectors. The company has held a Royal Warrant since 1986 for the supply of preservative pre‑treated fencing to the Royal Stud and His Majesty The King’s Sandringham Estate.
Part of the Rundvirke Group, C&G’s strategy centres on producing durable, high‑specification fencing components and gates manufactured from pressure‑impregnated softwood. Extended‑service‑life utility poles and railway sleepers remain core to the business.
Commenting on the decision to join the WPA, C&G Business Director John Secker said:
“Becoming a member of the WPA reinforces our commitment to technical excellence and supports the wider advancement and integrity of industrial wood preservation.”
WPA Chairman Steve Young said: “Calders & Grandidge is a well‑respected business with a strong reputation for producing high‑quality treated wood products. We look forward to working with them to promote correctly treated materials and highlight the benefits of wood as a sustainable, low‑environmental‑impact construction solution.”
