UK topsoil, topdressing supplier and BALI Registered Affiliate member British Sugar TOPSOIL presented three young designers with Student Design Awards for commercial and domestic schemes at this year’s Society of Garden Designers Awards ceremony. Held at The Landmark, London, on Friday 31 January, the SGD Awards were hosted by magician and performer Nigel Mead.

National TOPSOIL Manager Andy Spetch presented Student Design Awards to Luke Arend for his commercial scheme ‘Getting Out’, to Tabitha Rigden for her domestic scheme ‘Contemporary Woodland Edge Garden’, and to Joana Rzepa for her ‘Chilterns Family Garden’. All three designers are students at the London College of Garden Design.

Speaking at the event, Andy said:

“As topsoil suppliers we are always delighted to see designs that embrace soft landscaping in all its guises, whether in a traditional or a contemporary setting. The three winning designs here this evening fully employ the potential that soft planting and lawn areas give to a scheme and British Sugar TOPSOIL is delighted to be supporting the development of these up and coming designers.”

British Sugar TOPSOIL supplies sustainable, safe and BS3882:2015-compliant products to the landscaping, amenity and construction sectors for schemes in East Anglia, the East Midlands, London and the South East.
