British Sugar TOPSOIL invests in equipment
Responding to buoyant demand from housebuilders and landscapers at the start of 2021, British Sugar TOPSOIL has taken delivery of a new trommel screen to produce the company’s BS3882:2015-compliant Landscape20 general purpose topsoil at their Cantley factory in Norfolk.
The larger capacity trommel – a TEREX TTS 620T - will be working in tandem with a stockpiler, purchased in 2020. The new machine is easily configured by the operator to suit the required product and the intelligent feeder control system continually adjusts the feeder speed to optimise screening rates. The 5.5m long x 2m diameter screening drum can process between 300 and 500 tonnes of soil per hour.
National TOPSOIL Manager Andy Spetch said:
We are delighted that our customers’ projects seem to be progressing apace and, consequently, demand for our Landscape20 topsoil is strong. The new trommel screen will enable us to meet the increased demand whilst our extensive undercover storage will ensure our products remain easy to spread and to work with.
