BALI becomes an affiliate of British Society of Soil Science

22 Aug 2019 | BALI News

BALI has become an affiliate organisation of the British Society of Soil Science in a move that means BALI members now receive discounted rates for all BSSS events, workshops and conferences along with preferential access if events become oversold.

Booking a place on any of their courses is very straight forward. Delegates simply click on the Booking / Registration link from the relevant course page and choose 'Affiliate Organisation' from the payment options. After completing the usual details they'll be asked to choose BALI from the drop-down list and submit. Payment can also be made at the time though the booking system or they can issue an invoice for an individual or company.

The society's Professional Practice Committee has responsibility for the continual development of a programme of short courses on different aspects of practical soil science. All events are CPD graded.

In turn, the BSSS will promote any relevant BALI events through their own events calendar and newsletters.

BALI members can now visit the British Society of Soil Science's events page to find the latest upcoming events courses, or alternatively, you can find more details on BALI's own events calendar here.

In addition, their annual conference Managing Soil Resources to Secure Our Future is taking place in Sheffield on 4 and 5 September and may be of interest to some of your members. Amongst other subjects, it asks how land management will cope with the ever-increasing battle between housing and food production. The two-day package costs £285 but there is also a day-rate available if delegates find it difficult to get away for the full meeting.
