MCM supplies Basildon Hospital with soils and stone

01 Aug 2019 | BALI Member News

Phase 1 of a garden creation in Basildon Hospital is nearing completion, thanks to the collaboration between the client, Swift Landscaping, and the BALI Registered member MCM team. Delivering bulk bagged stones and soils to the client specification to the limited access hospital area in a tight time frame, MCM continue to supply landscape materials as Phase 2 beckons.

Getting you into (and out of) a tight spot

This ongoing development on behalf of Essex Council has been designed by Ringway Jacobs, with Essex-based Swift Landscaping carrying out the hard and soft landscaping.  Creating raised beds from gabion rock walls and hard walkways for patients and visitors to enjoy a welcome break and natural garden stroll as part of the Sponge 2020 Project, this EU-funded scheme encourages and funds collaborative urban projects that help improve the sustainable environment within the County’s green infrastructure projects.

“MCM were very helpful with the timing and management of the early deliveries to avoid disruption to the patients and smooth running of the hospital.”

Supplied in bags by MCM:

“The Basildon garden required a high level of cleanliness – not an easy ask when it comes to soils and aggregates.”

Swift Landscaping’s Contracts Manager, Simon Thomson commended MCM’s service, professionalism and their consideration of the tight time frames and the location – a working hospital – where cleanliness was of real importance. He said:

“The team managed the tight timeframes and logistical challenges of the site admirably.”
