Projects

Woods Farm, Stanmore Country Park

Completed: 18/06/2015
Location: Stanmore
Budget: £250,000.00

WOODS FARM, STANMORE COUNTRY PARK Twig has landscaped the 70-acre extension to Stanmore Country Park, North West London. This was created both during the Spring of 2013 and the final planting of the recently created landforms will be completed this coming Autumn. Wood Farm is a challenging but unique site, surrounded by woodland, with spectacular views of the capital. Twig was awarded the contract to transform this inaccessible area of former inert land fill site, farmland, and scrub into a haven for the public and wildlife alike. The transformation included the clearing of vegetation, tree work, fencing, gate installation, seeding of grass and wildflowers, all weather path installation to enable pedestrian and wheel chair access in to the country park, cattle grid installation, soak away construction following permeability testing, car park formation, tree and shrub planting, Ha Ha construction and spreading 3000t of topsoil prior to seeding. Throughout the park there are access points that required kissing and pedestrian gates and multiple benches and cycle racks installed.

Solar Farm mowing

Completed: 18/06/2015
Location: Kent

Twig undertook a program of weed spraying across 4 large scale solar sites using equipment specifically developed for solar farms. This equipment ensured that the risk of damage to the solar panels was minimised whilst significantly increasing efficiencies to the otherwise labour intensive spraying activity. Our investment in specialist equipment also enabled us to remove ruts, cultivate the seedbed and seed in between the PV rows. Our Ecological contracting experience gave us the required knowledge to ensure that the ecological and conservation planning elements were adhered to giving enhanced environmental diversification. Our off set low profile mowers enabled inter row mowing keeping the areas tidy and within expectation of the sites’ investors. Our consistent delivery of projects to a high standard and on budget resulted in the following testimonial; “I have been managing field-scale solar sites for a German company for the past two years, and during that time, the Twig Group have been excellent at dealing with a wide range of landscaping issues. Such works have included; hedge planting, the establishment of wildflower meadows beneath the arrays and routine mowing . Twig’s specialist machinery is ideal for the tight areas between the panels and their attention to detail is second to none. I will definitely continue to use their services in the future and have no hesitation in recommending them to others.” Ben Palmer MRICS FAAV
