Projects
Rochdale Town Hall
Rochdale Town Hall, a Victorian Gothic landmark designed by William Crossland in 1871, underwent a major refurbishment to improve durability and accessibility. Wright Landscapes partnered with UltraScape to deliver a low-maintenance, long-lasting paving solution using its BS 7533-compliant Mortar Paving System. This included pro-bed HS bedding mortar, pro-prime slurry primer, and flowpoint grout, ensuring strength, speed, and sustainability. The project boosted productivity with silo delivery, reduced waste, and achieved exceptional results. In 2024, the rejuvenation won a BALI National Landscape Award for Hard Landscaping Construction over £500K.
St Albans Cathedral
St Albans Cathedral, dating back to 1066, partnered with UltraScape and Ground Control to restore its historic cobbled driveway, which had become unsafe due to loose stones under heavy traffic. The goal was to maintain the cathedral’s heritage while ensuring durability and safety. UltraScape’s BS 7533-compliant system—eco-bed bedding mortar (with 20% recycled material), pro-prime slurry primer, and flowpoint grout—was used to create a strong, seamless finish. The installation improved performance, reduced hazards, and impressed the client, leading to plans for further paving upgrades and adoption of UltraScape products on other projects.
Chelsea Flower Show
UltraScape played a key role in several award-winning gardens at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. For Paul Hervey-Brookes’ Silver-Gilt RBC Brewin Dolphin Garden, UltraScape eco-bed and slipbond adhesive were used to install Lunar Sand pavers and Dover Taupe tiles, finished with UltraTile ProGrout Flexible. Manoj Malde’s Garden of Unity, celebrating inclusivity and sustainability, featured reclaimed materials and eco-bed mortar for limestone paving. UltraScape also supported Darren Hawkes’ Silver-Gilt Samaritan’s Listening Garden and Emma Tipping’s Gold Medal Balcony Garden, showcasing its trusted BS 7533-compliant paving solutions for durability and performance.
