Projects

Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club

Completed: 02/05/2017
Location: Brighton
Budget: £20,000.00

A giant resin bound Seagull crest welcomes B&H Albion football fans to the Amex stadium in Brighton. Paul Barber, Chief Executive of the Albion noticed a crest (albeit on a much smaller scale) at Manchester City and liked the idea and decided the club should have their own, but bigger and bolder to create a real sense of arrival for the fans. Clearstone was chosen for the project as they are a specialist resin bound surfacing company with expertise in producing custom paved logos. The crest was created in Vectorworks CAD program, from which intricate templates were laser cut for the seagull, its beak and the lettering, which were then carefully pinned in place by Clearstone's installation team. Then in-filled with white and blue RAL coloured pigmented quartz to match the team's home kit colours. Finally a seal coat of resin was sprayed on the crest and anti-slip glass sand was applied as a finish. It took around eight days to complete. And the reaction from the fans? "Lots of people have been taking their picture in front of the crest. I have heard that it is already becoming an ideal meeting point for people on Match day, as you can't exactly miss it!" says Laura Collins, Projects Manager

Osborne House for English Heritage

Completed: 18/04/2017
Location: Isle of Wight
Budget: £220,000.00

Clearstone Paving Limited has rejuvenated access roads to Queen Victoria's palatial home on the Isle of Wight by installing resin bound. The existing approach roads of loose gravel were in a poor state and caretakers English Heritage needed a durable and long-lasting surface to blend in with the colour and style of this stunning property. Clearstone laid resin bound in Mocha: "The resin bound surfacing is in keeping with this prestigious site and it looks great," says Timothy Fagg, English Heritage's Maintenance Project Manager. Despite poor weather and the logistics of transporting people and materials across to the island by ferry, Clearstone craftsmen laid 2,000m2 of resin bound in 11 days ? on schedule for half-term visitors to enjoy beautiful Osborne House. Available in a range of colours and textures to suit any property, Clearstone resin bound is a blend of naturally sourced aggregates and recycled materials in UV-stable resin. Hand trowelled, it's flexible enough to incorporate curves, sharp corners and designs. Clearstone Paving Limited provides a bespoke personal service from conception to completion, with the reassurance of a 10-year guarantee.

National Trust

Completed: 24/06/2015
Location: Warwickshire
Budget: £20,000.00

Clearstone resin bound: restored courtyard at National Trust Baddesley Clinton At National Trust Baddesley Clinton in Warwickshire, Clearstone's resin bound has transformed a tired, impractical outdoor dining area into a tranquil space perfectly in keeping with this historical Grade I listed property. The original courtyard that had a tendency to collect water is now a permeable user-friendly relaxing area for diners - contemporary paving technology that enhances this fascinating 16th century property. The Barnyard courtyard at Baddesley Clinton had suffered much wear and tear: the shuffling and scraping of chair legs had gouged and shifted the original paving making it look messy. The courtyard needed a solid, smooth, tough surface impervious to knocks and scrapes. Clearstone installed Spice Barley resin bound to a depth of 18mm. The colour and texture work beautifully with the mellowed red brick of the courtyard and the porosity of resin bound allows water to drain away so no puddling, even though the site slopes. Although the Barnyard is the busy hub of Baddesley Clinton, the Clearstone team worked around visitors and staff during the installation with no disruption to visitors or trade. The 327m2 courtyard was laid in 24 hours and ready to use the following day.

Cranford Community College

Completed: 24/06/2015
Location: London
Budget: £10,000.00

Clearstone resin bound Circle of Life garden at Cranford Community College Clearstone resin bound paving proved ideal for Cranford Community College-s Circle of Life garden where innovative design, accessibility and low maintenance were essential. The school in Hounslow wanted a water-themed space for relaxation and celebration. Their current garden was gloomy and uninviting, clearing fallen leaves and maintaining grass, inconvenient and costly. Garden designer Wendy Stokes evoked the restorative qualities of water with a swirl of Clearstone's Aquamarine PrismStone in a surround of warm Sienna natural aggregate and a reflective steel ball. She chose Clearstone resin bound for paths since it's wheelchair and buggy friendly, contemporary and "keeps looking good for years". In addition, Clearstone resin bound is environmentally friendly: rainwater soaks through and returns to the water table, thereby meeting sustainability requirements. Assistant Head Teacher Alan Fraser is delighted that the stunning new garden with its resin bound paving is useable all year round, stands up to extreme weather, doesn't puddle and requires only a powerwash and brush to maintain. "The Clearstone team was very quick laying the surface and worked long hours to get it all finished for the opening ceremony," says Alan. Backed by a 10-year guarantee, Clearstone is a product and a company you can trust.
