Yorkshire & North East, Rolawn Event

The Yorkshire & North East committee are keen to connect with those in the industry offering the opportunity to attend this fantastic event at Rolawn HQ.

On the day there will be a mix of activity covering turf production, topsoil production and a nature-based solutions CPD session with Terry Smithson.

Schedule:

9.30am Arrival and refreshments

10.00am Split into three groups depending on numbers to do the following:

Turf production:Seeing the turf cultivation process from plough to harvester and everything inbetween.
Profresh and other innovations that set Rolawn apart.

11:30 Lunch break & networking

12:15pm Topsoil production – at our HO site, approx. 45 minutes. The challenges in sourcing raw materials to ensure high quality horticultural results. The blending and bagging process to produce a range of topsoils.

1:00pm Nature-based solutions – in our meeting room, approx. 45 minutes. A presentation by our head of NBS, Terry Smithson, explaining our work in producing products that address the needs of managing water and producing increases in biodiversity.

2:00pm Finish

Terry Smithson, MCIEEM, biodiversity manager for Rolawn, is an expert in biodiversity with a passion for protecting the planet’s natural habitat. Terry draws on extensive experience in the nature conservation sector, and degrees in Zoology and Ecology, to lead Rolawn in meeting its environmental goals and guiding customers in boosting biodiversity.
