details
The ROLO Health, Safety and Environmental Awareness Course is a mandatory pre-requisite for most LISS/CSCS SmartCard applications. This course is hosted by Keith Cook Training and costs £150.00 plus vat per person.
The course consists of a one-day classroom-based training with a multiple-choice test at the end of the day. You must score a minimum of 75% to pass the course.
Delegates also have the option to take the computer based CSCS Health Safety and Environment Test on the same day (an additional charge applies).
The ROLO scheme (Register of Land-Based Operatives) was introduced to raise the standards of health and safety and reduce the risks and accidents throughout the industry for anyone who works in the land-based sector. It also encourages employers to keep a record of workers who have achieved a recognised level of competence.
The Department of Trade & Industry made it a ‘duty of care’ that all trade bodies ensure that their members were adequately trained in health and safety and that all employers should show that personnel are properly trained.
In July 2014 the United Kingdom Contractors Group (UKCG) officially recognised BALI’s ROLO (Register of Land-Based Operatives) Health, Safety and Environmental Awareness Course under its UKCG Health and Safety Training Standard, now known as Build UK.
