An informal, free webinar presented by Jeremy Barrell and David Johnson from TDAG discussing how to retain existing healthy trees and plant news trees as part of development projects.
details
While good design and a competent, informed specification are important elements, the ultimate test of success for any project involving both existing and new tree planting is performance over time.
It would be fair to say that the ‘performance gap’ for trees in development and retrofitting is too big – too many trees die within the first five years of planting and so do not mature to deliver the many benefits ascribed to our urban trees.
This means that there is a critical step from design to delivery and what actually happens on site is the deciding factor for long term success.
This webinar will outline what is needed on site to:
- Protect existing retained trees
- Plant new trees and their aftercare programme to enable longevity
- Protect newly planted trees during the final construction phases
