Matthew Unwin

Since qualifying as a Landscape Architect at Leeds Metropolitan University in 1998, I have developed over 25 years of experience in landscape architecture, encompassing design, project management, and implementation across national and international projects. My career spans the UK, Australia, and Asia, where I have held senior and directorial roles in both public and private sectors.

With a passion for creating innovative and functional outdoor spaces, I have led landscape and multidisciplinary teams to deliver diverse projects - ranging from residential and commercial developments to public realm improvements, foreshore revitalisations, resort planning, and educational environments. My portfolio includes projects for local governments, developers, private clients, and corporations in the UK, Europe, Australia, and Hong Kong.

I currently serve as an Associate Director and Lead Landscape Architect at Barnes Walker, playing a key role in design direction, leading project design and delivery, developing client relationships, managing financial oversight, mentoring staff, and contributing to planning and business development. My work focuses on private high-end residential and varying commercial schemes.
