The Royal Parks Guild is delighted to announce the Apprentice and Trainee Guild Discovery Day 2025, taking place on Tuesday 7 October at ZSL London Zoo

Tuesday 7 October 2025 doors and registration from 9.00am for 9.30am start, event finishes at 4.00pm
This year’s event will be held at ZSL London Zoo with the main theme being the reimagining of horticulture
for the 21st Century, set against the background of the issues facing us today - climate change, biodiversity loss
and technological advances. The day will include:
- a keynote speech on rewilding in urban areas and nature-based solutions
- a talk on the importance of horticulture to zoos and their conservation aims
- a look at community gardening and innovative ways of delivering this activity
- facilitated small group discussions, organisation display stands, networking lunch, etc.
- tours of ZSL London Zoo’s horticulture and The Regent’s Park’s Queen Elizabeth II Garden (under construction)
Mid-morning breakout sessions will explore the reimagining of gardening as one of the solutions to global
challenges. Experts-in-the-field will facilitate these discussions and feedback will be provided at the end of the day.
It is a chance to discover more about opportunities in horticulture and the organisations supporting the day,

The day is free of charge and open to all those studying for a career in horticulture and allied professions.
This event is a joint initiative between The Royal Parks Guild, The Royal Parks, ZSL London Zoo and The Tree Council,
supported by a range of organisations.
