Amenity Land Solutions to now supply Valdor® Flex
Valdor® Flex was introduced to the UK turf and amenity market last year and has been widely praised for providing excellent residual control for even the hardest to manage weeds. Valdor® Flex is available to purchase through BALI Registered Affiliate member Amenity Land Solutions.
Alan Abel, from Complete Weed Control, put the herbicide to the test on a heavily weeded gravel site at an international airport;
"Valdor® Flex stood out for us due to the long-lasting residual control and its low risk of resistance. In practice these features impressed with great results.
"Herbicide resistance is an increasing issue for the amenity sector, so the fact that new products are coming to the market is certainly a positive, helping us to complete jobs efficiently,"
Valdor® Flex can keep soil weed free for up to four months with just one single application, and its success is due to two synergistic active ingredients, diflufenican and iodosulfuron-methyl-sodium. This combination helps to minimise the risk of resistance through two complementary modes of action, controlling a range of common weeds. Valdor Flex® and can be used standalone prior to germination or before weed emergence. If weeds are present, it can be mixed with glyphosate or a fatty acid, which helps to provide the initial knockdown.
Dan Hughes, Commercial Sales Manager commented;
"The introduction of a new optimum formulated, broad spectrum residual herbicide dramatically improves the limited control options in the market to rotate active substance and reduce resistance"
Manufactured by Bayer, it uses the latest generation of wettable granule (WG) to ensure the product remains stable in water for at least 24 hours, meaning any remaining solution in the tank can be used the following day. This unique product also has a low odour, eliminates the risk of stains on treated surfaces, and consists of an incredibly low dust formulation which helps to reduce operator exposure.
Valdor® Flex should be applied from February through to June with a single application required per season. A 10g sachets can be mixed with 6-10 litres of water, providing coverage of up to 200m2. For larger users, the 500g bottle can be mixed with 300-500 litres of water to achieve coverage of 1 hectare.
