Competency
We offer help in areas from operator skills training through to managers' and directors' development training. If you need company inductions, on-site toolbox talks, technical training, behavioural safety or competence assessments then give us a call. Recording individual competency and experience is vital to planning a company's needs and predicting and planning training costs. Better forward planning can reduce or eliminate downtime and costs. We can help you put systems in place that will do this.

- We can help you sort the back office stuff so you can concentrate on your main activities, winning the work and completing it safely and efficiently.
We're able to provide ad hoc or regular assistance as often or as little as you need, reducing the need for you to employ specialist staff. If you only need some guidance to get you started or perhaps a template for a document or process which you can then complete yourself, we can do that too. If you need just one project completing such as producing risk assessments, method statements, a training matrix or reviewing and developing your health and safety policy to suit your operations we are here to help.
Paper is easy to recycle but you don't need too much of it!

The Health and Safety Executive image here reflects a common misconception. A risk assessment does not need to be a large, wordy document. A company's documentation must meet legal requirements but also ensure it is profitable, efficient and sustainable.

Sometimes our customers need something to help them win a contract or to satisfy a specific client.
Our reviews generate a feedback report on findings, suggestions or recommendations highlighting possible development opportunities. But our support is available for as long as you need it.
We regularly help people with just a one day, one-off, individual site audit around safety and quality standards and
operational practices. This involves a site visit including discussions with operational and management staff which generates a feedback report.
As businesses develop, a one day, one off staff competency review can help managers by generating an up to date training matrix and training plan. This can help reduce downtime and training costs by predicting and planning future training needs including any refresher requirements.

H&S policy, generic and site specific RA's, LOLER and COSHH related documentation review
A commonly requested service is an office and a site audit (including discussions with operational and management staff). Then a remote desk-based review of all the above relevant documentation and the production of feedback report.
The report may be enough for the business to correct minor issues internally however if more detailed corrections are needed we can provide that service which is costed on the basis of how much time and work is involved.

A more comprehensive package
Some customers want more of a comprehensive review which looks at all the topics listed in the sections above and also the business's environmental and working at height policies, their assets and PUWER records and procedures and also the company training / competency records with feedback report on possible and recommended developments.
Depending on the business size this can take a few days at the business's office and a site visit and discussions with operational and management staff. Then a remote desk-based review of all relevant documentation and the production of feedback report.
The report may be enough for the business to correct minor issues but if more help is needed we can provide that service which is costed on the basis of how much time and work is involved.

The full monty
If you prefer we can offer the above services as one-off reviews or we can provide a regular planned 6 monthly or annual support service.
If people opt for the yearly service we can (if they wish) add Martin's name to the business safety documentation as the external HSEQ consultant and we will maintain, update and develop your safety documentation. We also offer an on call support service as part of this formal yearly-retained contract-based service.
This option enable you to set the number of support visits or meeting dates that we will take part in for the year ahead. Or you can leave it flexible to fit your needs.
There is no maximum number of visit dates but we discuss the realistic needs at the start of each year so you get the support when you need it.
We like to be clear:
Contract - means customers sign up for a year long contract and can access assistance and support at any time on a day rate basis.
On call - means they can call as an when they may need assistance.
Retained - means there is a set fee payable every 6 months if no visit or support work is required within the 6 month period.
As with the above options, UAG members get a £50 discount. There is no VAT to be added.
