LISS/CSCS application

Apply and pay for a LISS/CSCS SmartCard online.

Once your application is complete you will receive an automated email to confirm we have successfully received it. BALI will then validate your SmartCard application to ensure you have met all LISS/CSCS scheme requirements. You will then receive an email to confirm your application has been approved.

IMPORTANT PLEASE READ - We have received communication from CSCS advising that they are currently not producing any LISS/CSCS SmartCards. This is a result of an error caused by their system upgrade. CSCS engineers are working to resolve the issue. BALI will notify you once your SmartCard has been issued. We apologise on behalf of CSCS for any inconvenience this may cause.

All LISS/CSCS SmartCard applications require a unique email address to be provided for the cardholder.

This email address can be a company or personal address, but it must be unique to each cardholder.

There are 2 main reasons that a unique email must be given for each cardholder:

  • Due to data protection legislation, the cardholder must be made aware that a card has been applied for on their behalf. When you apply for a LISS/CSCS card for an employee, CSCS sends that employee an email letting them know what a card application has been made on their behalf.
  • No matter who fills in the application form, a LISS/CSCS card ultimately belongs to the cardholder. As such, when an employer applies for a LISS/CSCS card for an employee, the employee must be informed that they now own a LISS/CSCS card.
