Brexit and business operation

The EU-UK Trade and Cooperation Agreement has prevented the UK from leaving the European Union (EU) without a deal, and allowed the UK to secure - amongst other things - zero tariffs or quotas on goods traded with the European Union from 1st January 2021.

Whilst there will not be any tariffs levied or restrictive quotas imposed, departure from the EU will result in new customs and regulatory checks which UK businesses will need to navigate.  There will also be an end to freedom of movement for work.

The UK government has launched a webpage which outlines the new rules that will apply from 1st January 2021 to businesses and citizens in specific areas:

Importing goods into the UK
Exporting goods from the UK
Travelling to the EU
Living and working in the EU
Staying in the UK if you're an EU citizen

A 'Transition Check' survey allows citizens and businesses to identify which areas of Brexit will affect them.
