How to Obtain a ROLO Card

There are three levels of ROLO cards:

Trainee Card:

Those who are registered by not yet completed N/SVQ level 2 are able to apply for a trainee ROLO card. To do this they require to provide their NVQ registration number.

Blue Skilled Card:

There are two routes of entry for Blue Skills Cards.

  1. Completion of a NVQ level 2 within the past 2 years - evidence of pass certificate is required. If the applicant completed their NVQ over two years ago, they are required to undertake a ROLO health and safety course. This is also applicable for renewals.
  2. Attendance of a ROLO health and safety course

Gold Skilled Card

A gold skills card can be obtained by those who have completed an NVQ level 3. If they completed the NVQ within 2 years of applying for the card, this is all that is necessary. After 2 years, the applicant requires a ROLO health and safety certificate. This is also appli cable for renewals.

The ROLO health and safety course, is a one day (7 hours) approved health and safety awareness course. The course is required to have been completed less than 2 years before application. Please see the table of training providers who offer ROLO health and safety training.
