LISS/CSCS Overview

The LISS/CSCS Skills Card (Landbased Industry Skills Scheme/Construction Skills Certification Scheme)

BALI (British Association of Landscape Industries) is the largest independent trade association representing the landscape sector in the United Kingdom with a commitment to delivering professional excellence by continually raising standards across the industry.

Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) is the competency based card scheme for construction and other related industries. CSCS was set up to help the construction industry to improve quality and reduce accidents.  CSCS cards are increasingly demanded as proof occupational competence by contractors, public and private clients and others.

To best serve industry and to promote good working practices both organisations have collaborated to set a joint scheme arrangement which is *Landbased Industry Skills Scheme/Construction Skills Certification Scheme (LISS/CSCS).

*Note Landbased includes the following industry sectors:

• Landscape Construction & Horticultural Landscape Maintenance
• Arboriculture
• Pesticides
• Ecology and Environmental Management
• Amenity

BALI is the administrator for both LISS/CSCS and National Highways Sector Scheme 18 (for the Natural Environment and Landscape, including Ecology).
