A complete re-development of a large rear garden in Hove, East Sussex, including soft and hard landscaping. The garden was in need of full clearance with some demolition, except the beautiful old boundary brick walls. The garden was designed by the client's friend, an award winning Garden Designer and member of the Society of Garden Designers. This project included a large kitchen garden area with eight oak sleeper raised beds surrounded by a Breedon Gravel pathway and a large Gabriel Ash Greenhouse . The kitchen garden was surrounded by raised sloping banks which would form planting beds for beautiful mature trees to provide winter interest and structure as well as providing a screen for the re-positioned large trampoline for the clients children to use. A large formal lawn was installed in front of kitchen garden where a bench was positioned to take in the view towards the house. . The clients had recently completed a glass kitchen extension, a room with many views from inside, hence the need for a stunning garden all year round. Two seating areas were created, one for morning coffee and one for BBQ family gatherings using York Stone and Vande Moortel brickwork, a beautiful combination. The first bespoke water feature was a raised circular pond (with underground pump and filter) around which curved Breedon Gravel pathways and perennial beds. A more formal rectangular tiered wildlife pond was surrounded by cobbles and stunning planting beds designed by the client.
