2017 - Domestic Garden Construction - Between £60k - £100k
Contemporary GardenPWP was approached to design and build the garden for this semi rural site on the outskirts of Harrogate. Working closely with the client to transform the garden from a wet, sloping site to a modern, clean cut space in keeping with the renovated house. The property, appropriately named Summerbeck benefitted from a glorious sheltered South facing aspect whilst having rural views over surrounding fields. The design takes advantage of a natural flowing beck with the installation of a cantilevered viewing deck to capture the late sun. Multiple levels and feature steps lead up to the top 'Pavilion Terrace' which houses a sunken hot tub. Here the scheme has been future proofed for the installation of a later stage steel frame Pavilion with bee friendly green roof and client friendly drinks bar!

2017 - Domestic Garden Construction - Between £100k - £250k
Urban CourtyardSituated in the centre of York, a stones throw from the Cathedral, this Listed property was once former Council offices before being renovated into high end residential town houses. The property was one of the few houses lucky enough to retain an outdoor space and the client wanted to create a wow factor urban courtyard. With careful consideration to the neighbouring properties and Listed building status, PWP designed a highly contemporary scheme in fitting with the clients home and lifestyle. With the use of bespoke CNC cut indigenous stone for step details and the installation of 3 'ripple' effect 2m high stone wall panels; a specially designed cantilevered pergola with laser cut copper screens housing an outdoor TV viewed from the sunken cedar hot tub and a 'Dark Planet' David Harber sculpture nestled beneath a row of pleached Hornbeam. PWP designed, built and continue to maintain this scheme.

2016 - Domestic Garden Construction - Construction Cost Between £100K – £250K
Contemporary Garden & PavilionPWP were employed to design and build a stunning modern landscape to compliment this new build architectural home. The sheltered south facing steep banks, originally home to an orchid nursery, provided interesting design opportunities whilst setting some challenging construction tasks.
Main features of the scheme include a 50m2 green roof contemporary garden pavilion with integral remote control gas fire; 20m long living wall with bespoke automated irrigation and modern lighting design, also a cantilevered viewing platform overhanging the main planting beds.
A mix of quality exterior porcelain and composite decking was used to surface the terracing as part of a plan to aid reduced maintenance on this large site.
The build was challenging as machine access was limited due to the steep gradients so access had to be carefully planned to help keep manual hand balling to a minimum. Also, the sites unique micro climate meant the heat in the late Summer work had to be carefully scheduled to maintain staff welfare standards.Designer: PWP Landscape DesignMaintenance Contractor: PWP Garden MaintenanceSuppliers: Havwoods, Lindum Turf, Silva Timber, Stonemarket, Urbis
