One Tower Bridge is a mixed-use development by Berkeley Homes spread across nine blocks and includes residential and retail space, as well as a variety of new restaurants and a state of the art theatre. The scope of the external works landscaping package included the detailed design, procurement and installation of over 8000m2 of high specification landscaping. Maylim’s remit included detailed paving designs, four bespoke water features, extensive granite cladding and a large range of soft planting with mature trees, specimens, hedging and shrubs. The work was split across four main sections; a ground floor podium slab with substantial attenuated drainage systems; a 1st floor communal residents garden of over 1000m2 with three water features; the re-modelling of Potters Fields park adjacent to the Mayor’s office and the iconic Tower Bridge; and lastly S278 works to Tower Bridge Road and Tooley Street. Works were executed in fourteen phases across a thirty-month period and culminated in the construction of the focal point of the scheme a large granite clad water clock feature framed with bespoke timber seating and twelve Carpinus Betulus mature specimen trees.

    Paddington Central, Phase 2

Hard Landscaping Construction (non-domestic) - Over £1.5 million The major redevelopment of Paddington Central saw British Land encompassing a new direction in how they manage their land and property. This scheme provides a ‘campus’ style development rather than building one off properties and spaces. Prior to British Land acquiring the space, Paddington Central was a tired 1980’s office estate; the public spaces were overshadowed by the buildings and were much need of updating. Maylim were appointed as Principle Contractors for the scheme, to drive the new design to success. Their remit was to create a vibrant pedestrian friendly public realm; a place that could be utilised and enjoyed as well as remaining functional to the surrounding properties. This project included a full road construction, installing high quality paving, kerbs and drainage and soft landscaping. Branching off of the main thoroughfare of Kingdom Street there are exciting social spaces including the ‘Games Room’ which features an amphitheatre style seating area, as well as ‘The Library’ and ‘The Kitchen Garden’. These spaces along with the ‘Woodland Garden’ and ‘Kingdom Square’ provide ample seating and lawned areas. They also installed electrical catering and USB points, an ambient lighting scheme and blocker benches.
