Wyevale East Nurseries announces launch of Student Garden Design & Build Award 2011

Wyevale East Nurseries announces the launch of The Student Design & Build Award 2011. This year’s award will be launched at The RHS Horticultural Halls at the London Plant & Design Show February 15th & 16th 2011.

The Student Design & Build Award is an initiative initially launched in 2010 by Wyevale East Nurseries in collaboration with the Royal Horticultural Society aimed at students of horticulture or design at level 3 or above, providing a unique opportunity to launch a career at a renowned garden show.

Details of The Student Design & Build Award 2011 will be sent to horticultural and design colleges nationwide in the week commencing 21st February 2011. Many colleges have already shown great support and interest in this year’s award.

This year’s winning design by Charlotte Murrell for The Student Design & Build Award 2010 titled ‘Wild in the City’ has been accepted by the RHS’ judging panel for inclusion in this year’s Royal Hampton Court Palace Flower Show. Charlotte commented: ‘’ I am delighted to be given this opportunity by Wyevale East Nurseries to design and construct my winning design at The Royal Hampton Court Palace Flower Show. I look forward to the challenge ahead’’.

The judges of this year’s Award will be : Chris Young, Editor of The RHS’ The Garden Magazine; Christine Parsons, Director responsible for Design membership at BALI; and Richard McKenna, Director at Wyevale East Nurseries.
