BALI member The Garden Builders' ‘A Joy Forever’ garden at Chelsea Flower Show

Looking Good, Feeling Fine Sculpture by Helen Sinclair

BALI member The Garden Builders are constructing the ‘A Joy Forever’ garden at the 2010 RHS Chelsea Flower Show, being held next week.

Designed by Kate Gould of Kate Gould Garden Design this garden is described as a beautiful sunken garden for clients who love to use their garden space for relaxation and entertaining all year round – but who do not have spare time to maintain a garden. A bespoke fireplace and lovely wicker furniture create the feel of an outdoor room, whilst the lush evergreen planting and shade-tolerant perennials provide plant interest throughout the year with relatively minimal maintenance in mind. Rainwater is cleverly harvested from the roof area and re-used for irrigation. All the floor surfaces within the garden are permeable. A dynamic circular bronze sculpture named ‘Secure’ provides a stunning focal point, 'Secure' is by Michael Speller, stand no. PW37.

Last year Kate Gould won a prestigious Gold Medal and the award for Best Urban Garden in show for the ‘Eco Chic’ garden. Kate says she love’s Chelsea and sees it as a break from work. ‘The secret to my sanity is to have a really good landscape contractor. The Garden Builders built my last Chelsea garden and also most of my day-to-day gardens. I have a really good relationship with them.

Sculptor by Helen Sinclair will also be exhibiting at Chelsea, she has exhibited her sculptures at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show for many years, she will be exhibiting at Stand SR34.
