Fly the Landscaping Flag for GreenFingers … Dragon Boat Racing

Roll Up, Roll Up … Landscapers, Designers, Suppliers prove your Strength, Stamina and Taste in fancy dress by entering a team for Dragon Boat Racing.

Taking place on Sunday 18th July at Wicksteed Park, Kettering, teams will race for the coveted Balinese Dragon winner’s trophy as well as raising money for the GreenFingers Appeal.

The GreenFingers Appeal was set up in 1999 to create magical gardens for children’s hospices, the Dragon Boat Racing Sponsorship money is crucial for the charity to build the gardens planned for 2010/2011. GreenFingers is also one of the chosen charities for the BALI National Landscape Awards, the recent recipient of over £1500 raised by BALI Chairman Richard Gardiner through a sponsored bike ride.

Richard urges BALI Members to join in: “I would love to be part of this event but a group of fellow landscapers and myself are attempting the Three Peaks challenge to raise money for the GreenFingers appeal just 2 days before, and I’m sure my muscles will still be aching!

However I am keen to see BALI represented at this event, which I believe will be a fun day out, as well as the perfect opportunity for our members to showcase their competitive streaks.”

Webbs of Wychbold have won the event two years in a row and are definitely looking for a hatrick but hopefully they have some focused contenders snapping at their heels!

“Having been victorious for the past two years, we don’t intend to give the trophy away without a struggle - who dares take us on!!! It is a really great day out and your team will love it”, Boyd Douglas-Davies, team leader Webbs.
