Chelsea Flower Show 2009 Patricia Fox /Aralia Garden Design

Patricia Fox of Aralia Garden Design in Hatfield Heath and Neil Gaffan of Saffron Waldon based Eco-Lutions today won a prestigious RHS Silver Medal for their very first show garden design – ‘Freshly Prepped by Aralia’ Pat’s contemporary courtyard kitchen garden boasts several firsts at the Chelsea Flower Show – having the first ever living edible wall and also showcases a brand new variety of red watercress now available at Waitrose!

The most famous flower show in the world opened to the public today 19^th May and already Pat’s garden is proving to be a winner with press and public alike.  Yesterday was press day and celebrity chef Andrew Nutter created a buzz as he whipped up a special dish that he had devised for the garden, TV cameras were out in force to capture the ‘Nutter’ at work.

Ever the perfectionist Pat may have been aiming for gold but gaining an RHS silver medal first time out is no mean feat and this experience at Chelsea Flower Show has spurred her on to do bigger and better things.  “Initially I was a little disappointed with my medal but I have had time to put things into perspective and know that not only am I highly privileged to have been accepted by the RHS but I am so thrilled to have worked alongside garden designers of the highest calibre and to see the greatest flower show in the world unfurl from the inside out”
