The RHS reveal the finalists for this years' RHS Young Landscape Contractor of the Year supported by BALI

News - 09 June 2016

The RHS have announced the finalists for this years' RHS Young Landscape Contractor Competition supported by BALI.

Six talented youngsters have earned a place in the new RHS Young Landscape Contractor competition, with their gardens showcased at this years' RHS Flower Show Tatton Park.

The competition was first launched in February of this year and sees three finalists chosen from each respective field and set the challenge of working together in pairs to create a garden designed by Tamara Bridge, who won the 2015 RHS Young Designer of the Year competition.

Once judging is over, one winning talent from each category will be crowned winner of the RHS Young Landscape Contractor award supported by BALI.

Each garden will be given a different style and soil type to produce either a countryside, coastal or urban focus. This will be translated into the planting schemes and material chosen by the finalists.

The pair creating the countryside theme are Sam Hunt from Gloucestershire and Lizzi Mills from Somerset, while Yorkshire-based Ewan Sewell and Lydia MacKey from Worcester take on the coastal garden. Matthew Beesley from Cheshire and Katie Maude from Manchester will create an urban garden.

BALI will be providing further updates on this years' RHS Flower Show Tatton Park on its Today at BALI Blog, including the planning and development stages of the BALI exhibit which will be present in the Engagement Space which is part of this years' showground.
