The course will enable candidates to identify, inspect and comment on key parts of the equipment to be used. They will be able to prepare the equipment for use ensuring the safety of themselves, other people and the environment. The candidates will be asked to comment on the structure, condition and properties of the tree(s) to be worked on.  They will then use a chainsaw and other pruning tools, whilst maintaining a working position within the crown of a tree. Safety will be ensured by using a rope and harness, and working together with ground staff.
